About Me


Yongliang Liu is a postdoctoral researcher at climaTRACES Lab and Collective Intelligence and Design Group, University of Cambridge. He holds a Ph.D. from the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University.

He used to be a visiting PhD student at Amsterdam School of Communication Research / ASCoR, the University of Amsterdam; and a visiting researcher at the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore. 

His research focuses on media trust, digital journalism and risk communication. Yongliang has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in both English and Chinese in leading journals, including Communication Research, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism Studies, Journalism, and Journalism Practice

His work examines issues such as news media trust, Chinese journalism, and information behaviors in risk contexts. He has presented at major international conferences and has received multiple honors, including Top Paper Awards from ICA (2026), AEJMC (2025), NCA (2024, 2025), and IAMCR (2023). 

He could speak English, Mandarin, and Dutch.
